New Stranger Things 2 Poster Revealed, Time to L’eggo All Chill

The time has come to stock up on Eggos for a long Netflix marathon. The Stranger Things Twitter released a new poster this weekend to hype us up for our return to Hawkins to get some questions answered.

Last we left Mike (Finn Wolfhard), Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo), Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin), Will (Noah Schnapp), and Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), the demogorgon was defeated, resulting in Eleven’s disappearance. Will was found by Joyce (Winona Ryder) and Chief Hopper (David Harbour) and looked like he was on track to a full recovery — until he coughed up a slug creature and, for a brief moment, was back in the Upside Down. Hopper was last seen leaving Eggo waffles in an outdoor box. This, coupled with footage we’ve seen in trailers, lets us know that our favorite crazy friend survived the demogorgon showdown.

With one friend down (#JusticeforBarb), the Duffer Brothers added new cast members who are in the poster: Max (Sadie Sink) and her older stepbrother, Billy (Dacre Montgomery). According to the Hollywood Reporter, they will both be series regulars, which means we will definitely see a change in the dynamic between the core characters.

In the poster, Max is holding a skateboard, so her interests will likely be aligned with the boys’. Based on leaked script pages from the premiere episode, the gang finds out about her over a top score on an arcade game, but at that point they don’t know the username “MADMAX” refers to a girl. An initial rivalry could lead to friendship, but we saw in the first season that Lucas was resistant to adding more members to the group. How quickly will he accept another girl?

Billy, on the other hand, has his arms crossed and is turned almost completely away. His sketchy body language, paired with irresistibly flowing locks of hair, lines up with what has been said about his character so far: he’s a hit with the ladies, but there’s a darkness lurking underneath. Sounds like someone Nancy Wheeler (Natalia Dyer) might get into some trouble with! Hawkins may have a villain that’s not supernatural to worry about.

Stranger Things 2 releases October 27th on Netflix.
